Rules
RULES ACCEPTANCE: Rules, including published rules in print or on the website, are subject to change without notice. It is the sole responsibility of the participating anglers, captains, crews and guests (“Participants”) to know and abide by the Tournament Rules as published and as amended during the Captain’s Meeting. By entering any Gulf Coast Sportfishing Club (“GCSC”) tournament and paying entry fees, Participants agree to abide by the Tournament Rules and accept decisions made by the Rules Committee as final. Tournament Start, Fishing Times, Eligible Ports of Departure are subject to change by tournament committee without advance notice, and the rules presented in the Captains Meeting trump written rules. The tournament committee may at its discretion elect to retain any fish for display, testing, or further study. GCSC has the right to use, publish, edit, and distribute any videos submitted to the club for any purpose.
Tournament Dates: July 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026
Eligibility & Entry

Participants must be active Gulf Coast Sportfishing Club members before entering the tournament. A club membership may be purchased prior to tournament entry.

Entry is $100 per species, per angler. Anglers may enter one or multiple species categories.

Any entry submitted after July 1, 2026, is subject to a three-day waiting period before that angler may weigh a fish in the entered category.
Weigh-In Procedures

All fish must be measured by the angler before weigh-in to confirm the fish meets the applicable tournament minimum length.

Fish must be measured by total length.

The angler is responsible for handling the fish to and from the scale.

All fish must be weighed at Sun Harbor Marina by Sun Harbor Marina staff during normal business hours.

The tournament committee reserves the right to disqualify any fish that does not meet the stated minimum length or otherwise fails to comply with these rules.
Scoring & Awards

The largest eligible fish weighed in each species category will win that category.

In the event of a tie, the fish weighed first will be declared the winner.

Awards for each species category will be presented at the GCSC year-end banquet. Date and location are to be announced.

Other Grouper* - 32 inches

King Mackerel - 36 inches

Mahi-Mahi - 30 inches

Blackfin Tuna - 26 inches

Yellowfin Tuna - 40 inches
*Other Grouper includes species such as scamp, snowy grouper, yellowedge grouper, black grouper, and similar eligible grouper species.
